Robert Banks has represented hundreds of investors and investor groups in recovering their losses for nearly 25 years. He is the principal of the firm, and is primarily responsible for all of our cases. Although paralegals and associate attorneys do help prepare cases, if you hire our firm, everything is done under Banks's supervision. We do not have a high volume practice. At Banks Law, we know all of our clients. We tailor our claims, briefs and arguments to your case. There is no "one size fits all" legal representation at Banks Law. We never use a claim statement or brief twice. Every case is different, and we treat them as such.
Our cases and opinions have been featured in The Sunday New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, SmartMoney, The Oregonian, Business Week, The New York Law Journal, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer, among others. Robert Banks had a case featured on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, and has been interviewed at the studios of CNBC. We believe our firm has more multimillion dollar securities arbitration awards in our home state of Oregon than any other firm.
Robert Banks has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers each year that it has been published in Oregon. He has maintained the highest peer-review rating AV, from fellow attorneys by Martindale Hubbell for more than 15 years.
Banks is an active bar leader, and a partial list of his accomplishments appears in the column to the right. He has published many articles and has appeared as an expert in educational programs for lawyers and securities regulators in Oregon, Washington, California, Texas, Florida and New York. Click the resume link at the top of this page for a more detailed list of accomplishments.
He is also a chairperson-qualified arbitrator for FINRA, and has spoken at FINRA educational programs. He is also a regular arbitrator for the National Arbitration Forum. Banks Law has also represented FINRA in local matters not involving investors.
Banks is a member of the bars of Oregon, Wisconsin and Massachusetts, and has practiced in many other states using our associated local counsel.
Banks makes time for coaching baseball, fly fishing on the Deschutes River, and hiking in the mountains of Oregon with his wife and their two sons. He could run a sub 2:50 marathon in his younger days, and with some effort can still beat his 13 year old in a 5 mile race.
